Competition in the mobile processor world seems to become more fierce after ZiiLABS announced two new processors are ZMS-20 dual-core and ZMS-40 quad-core. ZMS-20 has a processor speed of 1.5GHz and can play 1080p video, supports 3D graphics with OpenGL ES 2.0 and compatible with DDR3. Meanwhile, details ZMS-40 remain unclear. But the architecture is said to be enlarged up to speed 6Ghz and supported by 100 core processors.
ZMS-20 is based on the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture. This processor supports HDMI 1.4 and OpenCL. The plan of this processor will be released with a special tablet Android platform and SDK. ZMS-20 chipset is currently being tested to the manufacturer and is expected to appear at this summer while ZMS-40 still waiting much longer.
Both chipsets are optimized for Android Honeycomb so that it can be seen clearly that their target is a Android Tablet.
